Allegra

The sea is the place that calms me. Some days it whispers gentle thoughts, on others it thunders a loud call to freedom and adventure, but it always speaks to me. I’m a Scorpio, a water sign, it has always been my element. The softness of sand beneath my feet, the faint taste of salt on my lips has always felt like home. Even when “home” was very, very far from the sea. On warm days, I sit on the sand to read or write, the water rushing cheerfully towards my feet like an old friend coming to greet me. When the weather is colder and wind whips spray onto my cheeks, I walk along the beach, keeping moving to keep warm. When rain makes it impossible to stay outside, I retreat to a cafe with a view of the waves and watch the expanse of grey-green, listening for what it has to tell me.
