Winter Wonderland

I stood second row in feeling my height obscuring the view of the row behind me. My friend stood next to me; we were both altos waiting eagerly for an announcement of what song we would be learning next. We had completed a vocal warm up and I could feel my body getting lighter as the weight of the day lifted. It was the beginning of winter and you could feel a chill in the air. It had been arranged for us to sing at the excel which was hosting a winter wonderland. I was excited to have learnt this new song and stepping out of my comfort zone completely I could feel my hand raising in an offer to sing this solo with the choir backing. Without me even realising I found myself in front of a mass of energy and as I heard the first few notes of the song, I could feel my heart pounding.
